Dark wings
A large pair of dark wings worn with a harness like a backpack. Made from cardboard and found feathers, the piece is hand-decorated with drawn patterns, creating a strong visual of escape, fantasy, and inner worlds.
Margarita is a participant at the center with a strong and unique artistic voice. She creates detailed drawings using a simple blue pen, developing complex, infinite compositions inspired by her inner, galaxy-like imaginary world. Her work reflects a rich personal universe full of fantasy and symbolic elements. For this project, she independently developed the idea and construction of the wings, showing initiative, creativity, and a clear personal vision. Her dream is to expand her artistic world into different formats such as clothing, objects, and environments
The wings can be associated with symbolic representations of flight, transformation, and escape found across many cultures. In this case, the piece reinterprets these ideas through a deeply personal and contemporary lens, using found materials and individual artistic language.
The piece is made from found and reused materials, including cardboard and naturally collected feathers.
Eco-responsible Methods
The work follows an upcycling approach, transforming discarded and found materials into a meaningful artistic object. The process is low-impact, handmade, and based on personal resourcefulness rather than industrial production
The process
The piece was entirely conceived and created by Margarita at home.
She constructed the wings using cardboard and attached real feathers that she collected from parks and the street. In addition, she created her own “feathers” from cardboard, which she decorated with her characteristic pen drawings.
The wings are attached to a harness system, allowing them to be worn on the body like a backpack
Our Team
The whole is much more than the sum of it’s part. Meet our team!
