Black Net top
An asymmetrical black crochet top made from recycled yarn, featuring a net-like structure. The piece has one sleeve and creates a light but visually restrictive layer that interacts with other garments in the collection.
This piece was developed collaboratively during workshop sessions, where crochet was introduced as a calming and accessible activity. Participants joined the process voluntarily, using it as a moment of relaxation alongside sewing work. The designer guided the overall form, while the making process remained open and flexible. The piece reflects a balance between structure and spontaneity, combining a simple technique with a conceptual intention. It also highlights how making can support wellbeing while contributing to a collective creative outcome..
Crochet is a traditional handcraft technique, often associated with domestic making and slow production. In this piece, it is reinterpreted in a contemporary and conceptual way, transforming a familiar craft into a symbolic and expressive garment.
The top is made from recycled yarn, repurposed into a new textile structure.

The process
The top was created using crochet techniques with recycled black yarn.
It was developed during workshop sessions as a parallel activity to sewing, allowing participants to engage in a slower and more meditative process. The asymmetrical shape and single sleeve were defined by the designer, while the making process remained collaborative and intuitive.
