Kimono galaxia
A kimono-style garment featuring a selected section of hand-painted fabric representing a galactic universe. The piece preserves the integrity of a single visual composition, combining comfort with expressive storytelling.
This piece focuses on the artistic universe of Margarita, whose drawings inspired the selected painted section. Her visual language, centered on galactic and dreamlike imagery, was preserved in its entirety within the garment. The piece was constructed collaboratively by Noemi and Luisa, with supervision from a textile designer. The process highlights individual expression within a collective project framework.
The kimono structure once again references garments made from continuous fabric panels. The piece also reflects contemporary practices of transforming art into wearable design.
By preserving a single visual composition, it emphasizes respect for the artist’s individual expression within a collective context.

The garment preserves a large portion of the original textile, minimizing waste and respecting the integrity of the material.
The transformation process emphasizes reuse, manual construction, and thoughtful material selection.
The process
A section of the painted canvas was carefully selected to maintain the full composition without fragmentation. The fabric was then transformed into a smaller kimono-style garment.
Ribbed cuffs were added to give the piece a more wearable and finished structure, bridging the gap between artistic object and functional clothing.
The construction process was carried out collaboratively, maintaining a balance between preserving the artwork and creating a functional garment.

My passion…my work. “El pozo amarillo” (The Yellow Well) is my business name. My work…illustrating and painting ideas on a multitude of natural silk objects: scarves, shawls, ties, bow ties, fans, handbags, cushions, lamps, curtains, clothing, paintings, headboards… After completing my higher education in fashion design, I began creating collections for women, men, and children. These were showcased and sold at various fashion shows and trade fairs, such as Prêt à Porter in
Paris, Intergigt, and SIMM in Madrid.
